Spring Series 2016
Spring
Nothing is so beautiful as Spring –
….The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush
The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush….
Extract from ‘Spring’ by Gerald Manley Hopkins 1877
The works in this collection are a series of paintings based on Spring. Responding to the colours, light and events of Spring, the small paintings are each painted on board on a gesso surface using oil prepared pigments.
